Johnny Howell, a long time Vail local, has been treating mountain athletes for over 12 years in the Vail Valley.  Johnny received his Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) Degree from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, specializing in Sports Medicine.  Johnny also has a Bachelor 's of Science in Biology at Virginia Tech.

 

Johnny works with Professional athletes from around the country, including the UFC, NFL, MLB, and the U.S. ski team as well as the local mountain maniac.  His specialty is in Sports Medicine Acupuncture treating sports injury, concussions, and general health.  Johnny's love for outdoor activities and his education in western bio-medicine, makes him unique in bridging Eastern medicine and Western Rehabilitative care.

Johnny is a member of "Acupuncturists without Borders" and volunteers his acupuncture services for "Vail Veterans" and other local charities.  When Johnny is not working, he enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, gardening and fungi foraging, spirit walking and camping.

It was through Amy’s own journey to healing that she found the true power and breadth that Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine offer. She enjoys providing her clients with this comprehensive, holistic method of healthcare so they too can continue to live the life they love and enjoy the activities that keep them active. 

 

Amy believes it is important for all of us to have the freedom of good health, whether that is competing in your sport or hiking your favorite mountain. She believes the body is intelligent and resilient, and is able to heal itself when given the proper support. 

Amy graduated from The University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in Clinical Nutrition. After several years of clinical experience in hospitals she went on to earn her Masters of Acupuncture from Southwest Acupuncture College. The program consisted of more than 2,500 didactic and clinical hours over the course of three years. Her education focused on classes in Orthopedic Anatomy, Trigger Point Acupuncture, Sports Medicine Acupuncture, Tui Na and Shiatsu Bodywork, Facial Rejuvenation and Cosmetic Acupuncture.

 

When she is not working, she enjoys time with her husband Jackson and son, Yaro and their energetic dog, Leroy. She is an avid snowboarder, SUP’er and cyclist. And her passion for food includes lots of cooking and mountain gardening. 

Michele Lavire

Michele Lavire, moved out to the Vail Valley in the summer of 2018 from southern Florida, where she had been practicing both Acupuncture and Pilates for years.  Michele has been passionate about the healing arts her whole life.  Before moving to the mountains, she owned a thriving acupuncture practice in Florida.  She contributes to Ocean health charities and is an active member of "Acupuncture Without Borders".

Michele's is passionate about nature and helping people enjoy their best life, naturally.   She loves to incorporate deep stretch therapy, and nutritional counseling to help her patients feel their best.  Her specialties include women's health, fertility, and Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture.  Helping women in the mountains stay looking and feeling fresh, vibrant and youthful in natural way.
